Three Trialists On Bench Vs Nantwich

Former MK Dons and Notts County midfielder Adam Nowland is one of the trialists on the bench for today's game at Nantwich Town.

Having been released by Notts County earlier this summer Nowland joins the Alex for a trial spell in the hope of earning himself a contract. The midfielder, who can also play up front, has struggled to overcome injuries since shining at MK Dons as a youngster.

Part of the deal that also took Nigel Reo-Coker to West Ham United, Nowland was tipped to become a top player. However, just 46 starts, six clubs and 5 years later he seems to be having somewhat of a stop-start career.

Earlier this year the 27 year old, who once cost Nott'm Forest £250k, went under the knife to try and solve a couple of injury problems and if he finds some fitness could be the ideal 'attacking midfielder' to go beside Mat Mitchel-King next season.

Meanwhile, as Vital Crewe revealed the other week, Gudjon is following up his interest on former Port Vale man Craig Rocastle. The Vale reject has slowly fallen down the leagues since leaving Chelsea in 2005 and since his release from Vale has spent a year at Greek side Thrasivoulos Filis.

The third and final trialist is 22 year old Faroe Islands international Jonas Tor Naes. The full back has previously been on trial at Wrexham this summer.
