Hughes Signs For Saddlers

Alex target Mark Hughes has signed for League One Walsall today. The former Northampton defender was thought to be on Gudjon's wishlist but the lure of League One football was never going to compete with what we had to offer.

The 22 year old left Northampton earlier this summer and had recently been offered a deal by Accrington Stanley. The Alex had shown an interest earlier this week but Walsall remained in a stronger position.

Hughes played over 90 games in League One for the Cobblers before turning down the chance to remain at the club. Maybe as Gudjon keeps saying, are our sights set too high for new players?
