Seasiders In The Carling Cup

Crewe now know one of their first fixtures for the new season - Blackpool at home in the Carling Cup 1st Round. The Championship side will visit the week commencing August 10th.

Last season we went on to knock out two Championship sides, Barnsley and Bristol City, before missing out narrowly at Anfield to a strong Liverpool side.

Blackpool could of course feature former Alex winger David Vaughan. Vaughan signed for the seasiders after a year with Real Sociedad. It would be the first time Vaughan has faced his former club since leaving in that 300k deal.
