Pope Completes Rotherham Swich

Tom Pope has left the club for Rotherham United in a deal worth £150,000.

The deal has been swiftly tied up following the club's acceptance of Rotherham's latest offer for Pope. After travelling to Rotherham this afternoon the 23 year old striker agreed terms and signed on the dotted line.

For the Alex it means a good deal for last season's top scorer and possibly a little money room for Gudjon's re-building plans this summer.

Pope leaves after three years with the club since signing from Biddulph Victoria in 2006. He's made over 35 starts for the Alex and scored 17 goals.

A huge fan favourite gone, Gudjon now has a lot to prove with his incoming signings.

This just beggers belief, I'd give our other strikers away right now no matter what they cost but Tom was our gem at this level - no doubt he'll be back to haunt the team. For me that's the last straw - I'll not be parting with my hard earned this season, what a disastrous move perhaps we'd have been better with a few less back room staff and held on to the family jewels.

So, I gather you like Tom Pope. Come and tell us Millers more about him, please!
