Crewe To Host Latics In Pre Season

Crewe have announced they will host Wigan Athletic on Thursday July 16th as Gudjon Thordarson begins to plan his pre season.

Thordarson says he will try and arrange 7 or 8 fixtures against a variety of sides, from Non-League to Premiership. The game against Wigan should provide a good test ahead of the coming season and it's a game Thordarson is looking forward to.Speaking to crewealex.net he said

'I can confirm we will be playing Wigan at home on July 16th and that will be a attractive game and an intresting test for my players. It will be nice to see Steve Bruce and Eric Black again and they will provide tough opposition for us.'

Gudjon has failed to rule out a trip abroad as part of pre season, something Crewe did last season under Steve Holland.

'I cannot confirm that we will be going abroad. That is something i will look into.I think it could be healthy to get away for a week maybe but we'll have to see what is available for us.'

Next season has to start now. The preparation must be perfect because anything less than promotion will be a disaster. There are no "comfort zones" in failure.
