Baker Watches MK Dons

Neil Baker was absent from Crewe's victory over QPR as he travelled to the National Hockey Stadium to watch the MK Dons take on Gillingham. So, who was he watching?

Izale McLeod would be the most desirable option, though this seems highly unlikely. The MK Dons rejected 750k bids from Wolves for the ex-Sheff Utd striker, who has also attracted Premiership interest. Therefore, it appears almost certain that McLeod wasn't the main point of interest.

However, with Anthony Tonkin out of contract this summer, left back Dean Lewington may have been the reason for Baker's trip. MK Dons captain Lewington has experience in the Championship - then Division 1 - winning their Player of the Season award during the 2003/04 campaign. 21-year old Lewington - son of former Watford boss Ray Lewington - has made 41 appearances this season though their impending relegation may signal the end to his MK Dons career. The 5'11 defender also leads the way in terms of assists for the Dons this season with 3, as well as scoring 1 goal.
