Leeds Without Beckford

Leeds will be missing star striker Jermaine Beckford for their trip to fortress Gresty on Saturday. The 25 year old couldn't keep his trap shut against Swindon at the weekend and was shown his second yellow late in the game for dissent after a reckless tackle had earlier seen him booked.

Having scored 22 in 27 games this season Beckford's absence won't be too much of a concern to Alex boss Gudjon Thordarson and the Alex defence.

Beckford's record against us is also quite impressive. Earlier this season he scored Leeds's fourth in that forgettable away day at Elland Road. The final score has escaped me. Last season he missed our trip to Leeds but scored a first half winner in the televised match at Gresty Road, and in the 06/07 season he put Scunthorpe ahead as they came back from 1-0 down!

His likely replacement will be Liam Dickinson, on loan from Derby, who scored six in 13 games for Huddersfield earlier in the season.
