Baudet Off To Play Soccer?

Reports say that MLS side Colorado Rapids want Alex captain Julien Baudet.

The American club, managed by former Arsenal coach Gary Smith, have made their interest known and are though to have offered Baudet a deal to join them in the summer.

Baudet's contract is set to expire in the summer, though it is expected that Gudjon Thordarson will offer his favourite player a new deal soon.

Baudet's season has match the club's; having made a shocking start under Steve Holland, the 07/08 player of the season has seen his form recover since the arrival of Gudjon arrived.

Whilst popular with us fans I can't see his departure upsetting too many. Whilst he's a character, and passionate, he is prone to living up to his name (apparently Baudet translates into Donkey). I wouldn't mind seeing him stay on another year but if we are to avoid another relegation scrap (or more) next season then we may have to look at better quality.

The 'Beast' is also reported to be interesting fellow League One clubs and Championship clubs. Seriously. Seriously?
