Elding Sees Red, And It All Kicks Off

The forgotten man of Crewe Anthony Elding was sent off today whilst playing for Lincoln, causing a right ruck.

Elding has been on loan at the Imps since Gudjon Thordarson's arrival and has thus far failed to give the Iceman a reason to re-call him to the Alex first team. With just three goals in twelve games up front for Lincoln he's not exactly a man on fire.

Today maybe his frustration boiled over - or maybe he's an idiot? - as he went sent off moments before half time in a match vs Bury. With the official Lincoln City website (redimps.co.uk) laying the blame on former Alex legend (maybe?) Efe Sodje going down too easily under Elding's challenged, they countinued...

''...[Elding] was dumped to the deck by Cresswell before being held down by the Bury centre-back.''

And with that the referee showed Elding a red card and he was sent for an early bath. Not before he got into another scrap though, confronted by one of Bury's coaches it all kicked off again.

Back to redimps.co.uk:

''More was to come though as when Elding started walking towards the tunnel, one of the Shakers' coaching staff went nose-to-nose with him before everything kicked off in front of the Bury dugout with players, technical staff, et al all getting involved.''

And so it looks like Elding is in for a week with the FA, it sounds like a automatic three match ban could yet be lengthened once tapes are reviewed.

He sounds just like Gudjon's sort of player.

Talking of Gudjon's sort of player, Michael O'Connor also played in the match (and was probably involved in the above). He played a part in Lincoln's goal. The game finished 1-1.

Once the taps are reviewed? They are going to nail him for his choice of bathroom fittings as well? ;o)

Yep, it's a new FA ruling. ;-)

O'Connor was no more involved than any of the other 20 players who were throwing handbags. The only two players not involved were the two keepers who were busy having a bit of kung fu among themselves, in jest I have to add.
