Broomes Returns For The Alex

Marlon Broomes will return to the club on loan after his week back at Blackpool. The experienced defender was re-called at the last minute last Friday by the season sides leaving Gudjon in the lurch with his team selection.

Thankfully though the impressive Broomes was only needed to cover minor injuries at Bloomfield Road and will now re-join the club for the rest of the season from tomorrow morning.

It tops a good week for players returning at Reaseheath training ground. Fellow loanee Dennis Lawrence looks set to start in defence against Colchester on Saturday afternoon after he had a mask fitted to protect his broken cheekbone, the Swansea defender is just awaiting clearance from the football league and match officials for permission to use the mask.

Also returning to training are midfield trio James Bailey, Luke Murphy and Mark Carrington. Whilst Bailey and Murphy are still another week away from match fitness, Carrington could yet make a return to the bench for the trip to Colchester.
