'If It's Football, It's Vital'

1-1 In Their Cup Final

Steven Schumacher broke the hearts of Walsall fans around the country with a 93rd minute goal. All the more reason to hate us.

It was a game we had the better of, after a even first half we went on to dominate the second half. It was proving difficult to find the break through though with former Alex keeper Clayton Ince in top form as usual. Also having two penalty claims turned away it was proving a difficult night for the Alex.

Despite everyone around us losing, except for Orient who won 3-1, the evening looked doomed when Walsall's Troy Deeney put the Saddlers ahead 10 minutes into the second half.

We battled back and dominated proceedings right through the rest of the second half but struggled to find a reply. With the clock ticking through into injury time it was looking bleak until a 93rd minute corner was headed beyond Clayton Ince by substitute Steven Schumacher.

The single point extends the gap between us and the bottom four to three points but we drop a place to 19th with Leyton Orient moving above us.

All in all it's turned into a really good night and those Walsall fans can carry on sucking lemons, we aren't bothered.
