O'Connor Will Face The Consequences

Gudjon has hit back at comments made by Michael O'Connor, with Thord saying whilst he's still an Alex player there will be consequences for his actions.

As brought to you by Vital Crewe on Saturday, O'Connor was less than complimentary about Thordarson's new regime. The Northern Ireland international completely dismissed claims that he was unruly, saying Gudjon simply had it in for him from day one.

Occy has pretty much ended his Alex career, saying he will refuse to play for Crewe again whilst Gudjon Thordarson is manager. With Gudjon signing a new deal today and O'Connor only having 12 months on his contract left, it's unlikely we'll see him in the red of Crewe again.

Upon hearing O'Connor's comments Thordarson spoke to the official site, crewealex.net, and said that there will be consequences for O'Connor's outburst.

'I've heard what Michael has had to say about me and the club and I just find it rather sad that a young lad like him is choosing this path instead of trying to learn from his mistakes. I hope he doesn't go down this path and can turn his career around.

'I am not too bothered about his comments. He can say whatever he likes and I don't think he will take too much good advice on board but what he needs to understand that he is our player and that what he says and does is a reflection of us and that his actions will have consequences.'

And if O'Connor was right, if this is simply Gudjon marking his territory, then it will have worked. Not too many players will be willing to mess with him after the past week or so. Is that such a bad thing? It might be if we start losing a couple...
