Imps Seal O'Connor Deal

Michael O'Connor has moved to Lincoln City on a one month loan deal.

The Northern Ireland international has been pretty much forced out of the club following a series of spats with manager Gudjon Thordarson.

It was suggested that Occy was interesting Championship clubs but today joins Alex striker Anthony Elding at League Two Lincoln.

Lincoln manager Peter Jackson is obviously delighted with the coup and credited Elding for helping push the move through, telling redimps.co.uk: 'He's has been captain of Crewe this season, he's played a lot of games and has international experience under his belt so his arrival is something of a coup for us.

'A lot of clubs in higher divisions were interested in him so I'm delighted that he's joined us and credit must go to Anthony Elding who played a major part in us being able to bring Michael to Sincil Bank.'

So, have we now seen the last of Occy or will this be a much needed boot up the backside to get his attitude into shape?

I seriously hope it's the latter but I think, like Occy's mate Gary Roberts, we've seen yet another player waste some serious talent through poor discipline and bad attitude.

On the bright side, at least Gudjon is clearing the club of any remaining bad eggs. No-one to try and dampen the team spirit at such a crucial period.
