Preparation for League One games a disgrace?

Preparation for League One games a disgrace?

Or is it just Crewe Alexandra that seem to put no effort in what so ever at getting games to go ahead when the conditions are a little bit dodgy?

First of all I'd like to say how sorry I feel for all of the travelling Alex and Bristol Rovers fans that are probably arriving at the ground now, as I write this, after several hours of driving, getting stuck on the motorway and enduring cold conditions. Its a shame the officials of today don't seem to think about the fans.

I think the last minute postponement of tonight's game is a disgrace. If the pitch was suitable to play this morning it should be suitable to play tonight come 7:45pm. Surely its common sense that temperatures are going to drop throughout the day as you come to night, it happens every other day of the year. I understand that they have to consider the safety of the players, but come on, would have they cancelled this game a few years ago? Or just got the orange ball out and got on with it? Its 4 degrees C outside, its not even that cold!

As for Crewe, have they ever thought about preventing this situation as much as they can? We seem to go through more and more postponements every season for the same reasons. Again I understand that we are going through a bad patch in the weather at the moment, worse than I can ever remember but what do the club actually do to try and make sure that the game goes ahead? We don't use covers (there not that expensive are they?), have no under soil heating (ok, that costs) and we don't get people in to clear the snow and help out.

There have been instances of fans and first team players helping clear pitches so that games can go ahead. Why don't we do that? I'm sure we have a fan base big enough that can and would pick up a few shovels and help. Is it just the Alex that's like this? Or every other team in League 1?

With us facing a battle to remain in League 1 wouldn't it be a good idea to try and play as many games as we could now, because if the club continues to put in no effort were going to end up playing 3 games a week for the last few weeks of the season which is going to end up in certain relegation.

Its time the staff at Crewe stopped messing the fans around, put some effort in to get the games on, apologise for messing us around, as well as all of the travelling away fans. Oh, and buy a bloody cover!

Maybe I've gone a bit crazy over nothing, but it just drives me mad, I'm missing my half time pie and having to watch Emmerdale!
