Jones Happy To Stay?

Left back Billy Jones seems to have dismissed rumours of a possible departure this summer.

It's been rumoured that the former Exeter defender was seeking a move away from Gresty Road this summer.

Billy however told thisisexeter that it's the first he's heard of it but found Exeter's summer bid to take him back a 'nice surprise' (first I've heard of that one):

'I have seen the rumours about my future and I am not sure where they have come from. As far I am concerned I have still got a year left on my deal and I don't think they are looking to get rid of me.

'Crewe never told me Exeter had put a bid in for me, it was just a case of finding out after the window. It was a nice surprise but, to be honest, a complete surprise.'

Billy has recently come under fire from many fans in recent weeks, with his defensive qualities being questioned, and maybe rumours of him going are just a bit of wishful thinking?

Whilst he's not the best player we have on our books the cranking up of fans dislike towards him is getting a tad uneasy - almost as if now Ben Rix has gone there needs to be a new scapegoat in place.

Set to stay! He might want to, but doubt he will have the final say :-)

Depends if we stay up! We wouldn't get a much better League Two left back than him at his price. :-(
