Gudjon Blasts Poor Discipline

Lesson number one; do not mess Gudjon Thordarson about. He doesn't like it. Whether you're the club's best player this season or not, you will not walk into Gudjon's side.

Michael O'Connor has received a verbal bashing from Gudjon after being dropped from the squad for the last two games.

It's not been fully explained as to why the Northern Irish midfielder was suddenly omitted from the Iceman's match day 16 but you can take a few wild guesses with these quotes from Gudjon.

Speaking to The Crewe Chronicle, Thordarson was damming in his assessment of O'Connor's attitude, almost telling him to buck his ideas up or get out.

'"It all starts with discipline on and off the pitch. It is about manners and how you take yourself forward at the training ground, in the dressing room and on the pitch.

'"It`s about body language and how you behave yourself. I am here to help players to help themselves. But if people are not willing to buy in to that, I can`t help them and we don`t have any future together.

'"We will find out who will join my team. It is the same everywhere in life. I can only recommend something. A lot of players like the idea of being great footballers but aren`t willing to do what is required to get there."'

It has been rumoured that a no-show from O'Connor pre-Tranmere sealed his fate in regards to selection.

The Chronicle also report that Gudjon now requires players to see the club Doctor before they are granted time off due to illness.

Heh. Such an easy ride for the academy kids under Dario & Holland; not liking it now a few stricter rules are in place. Would have loved to see a Gudjon vs Gary Roberts face off. ;-)
