Warner Not Keen On Alex Move

Hull City's back up keeper Tony Warner has reportedly rejected a chance to come to Gresty Road on loan.

The former Liverpool shot stopper had been ear marked by Crewe manager Gudjon Thordarson as the man to help solve our goalkeeping problems.

Having conceded 16 goals in Thordarson's first five games the defence is the Iceman's top priority as the clock ticks towards the transfer window closure on February 2nd.

34 year old Warner has found games hard to come by since signing for Hull in the summer, making just one appearance this season at Millwall last weekend. However despite the Alex offering him a chance of regular first team football with a 24 hour recall for Hull, it looks unlikely he's willing to accept.

Phil Brown, Hull manager, said today: 'Crewe and Grimsby have both shown interest in taking Tony for a month but Tony is making noises that he doesn't want to go, even though there would be a 24-hour call-back.

'He wants to stay here and fight for his place but there are two very good goalkeepers in front of him.'
