Thordarson Sweeps Up Broomes

Thordarson Sweeps Up Broomes

Crewe have today signed former Stokie Marlon Broomes on a month loan from Blackpool.

The central defender arrives at Gresty Road in desperate times. Having conceded 5 at Northampton on Saturday we travel to Peterborough tomorrow evening barely able to put a worthwhile back four together. The experienced Broomes looks likely to go straight into that back four.

The 31 year old joins after just 6 months at Blackpool having failed to make a impact at the seaside club, making just one sub appearance. He's previously spent three years at rivals Stoke as well as Preston since starting his career at Blackburn Rovers.

The signing is sure to bring some much needed experience and leadership to the defensive side of the team, something we've been lacking so badly of late.

That is such a bad headline.... but I'm sticking with it!
