More Players Could Go

Gudjon Thordarson says that Ben Rix may not be the last player to leave the Alex this month.

Rix's contract was terminated yesterday after over a decade with the club. The midfielder now looks set to take his career abroad with a club in Cyprus keen on offering him a deal.

Back at Gresty Road however, Thordarson says he's still assessing the squad but admits more players may need to go in order to take the club forward.

Speaking to The Crewe Chronicle, Gudjon said: "We have been looking in to other players going out on loan, but nothing is decided.

"The most important thing is to try to have a squad that is suitable for the work you want to take forward, and make sure you can keep the quality."

Thordarson has already made the surprising move to allow £150,000 striker Anthony Elding out on a three month loan to Lincoln this month.
