Pope To Go Out On Loan?

Tom Pope has suggested he may look to have a loan spell elsewhere after finding games hard to come by under Gudjon Thordarson.

The fans favourite was pretty much a regular under the guidance of Steve Holland, scoring five goals prior to Holland's departure this season. However, since then he's only made two substitute appearances having been frozen out of the team by the likes of Shaun Miller and Clayton Donaldson.

His two goals against Chester in the Cheshire Premier Cup mid week will have helped his chances of a first team return but Pope admits that if he can't get games here then he may have to look elsewhere.

Speaking to The Sentinel, Pope said: 'I am desperate to play.

'With the first team doing well, I can't complain about not playing. But if I am not in the side then I wouldn't mind going out on loan. I do think there have been some inquiries for me.

'In the meantime, I have just got to get my head down and hopefully get the chance.'

Whether Thordarson will grant Pope his wish, we'll have to see, but as seen as we've already seen Anthony Elding make a surprise loan move, I certainly wouldn't rule a move for Pope out.
