Jamie Vardy Set To Sign

Jamie Vardy Set To Sign

Reports from South Yorkshire suggest Stocksbridge Parks Steels striker Jamie Vardy is set to sign for the Alex.

21 year old Vardy has scored 16 times for the UniBond First Division South team and has attracted interest from a number of league clubs.

There were rumours last week that Vardy was on trial at Crewe and today the Sheffield Star has reported that Stockbridge chairman Allen Bethal and Vardy's family have come to South Cheshire to discuss terms and agree a move for Jamie to Gresty Road.

Last week Stocksbridge released a statement on their official website saying: 'Stocksbridge Park Steels F.C. can exclusively confirm that they are in discussions with several Football League Clubs regarding steels player Jamie Vardy. Jamie who joined the club at the age of 16 has progressed through a very successful youth set-up.

'Stockbridge Club Officials have already met with Jamie and his parents and have agreed for Jamie to meet with interested clubs. Stocksbridge Park Steels F.C. is committed to helping Jamie reach the right deal for himself and Stocksbridge Park Steels f.c, to achieve his goal of playing in the Football League.'

Although Vardy has a lot of admirers is seems a move to Crewe could now be imminent and a deal is likely to be struck by the end of the week.
