Having seen his side concede seven goals in his first three games as Alex boss Gudjon Thordarson looks set to try and batten down the hatches once and for all.
The Alex defence has pretty much gifted goals since Thordarson's arrival. Tommo's bloopers at Millwall followed by Collis's spillage on Tuesday was topped off with O'Donnell's own goal on Saturday afternoon.
It's something that (obviously) hasn't gone down well with the former Iceland manager and having already signaled his intent to add a Goalkeeping Coach to the staff at Gresty Road he will also look to bring in a fourth first-team goalkeeper.
It is thought that Thordarson has already weighed up a loan move for Burnley's reserve keeper Gábor Király, but with wages reaching up to a reported £15,000 p/w it's like that deal has already hit a dead end, with Kiraly expected to move out on loan to the SPL.
Other reports suggest that former Liverpool 'keeper Tony Warner is also on Thordarson's wish list. Now at Hull Warner is playing back up in the Premiership and hasn't played a first team game for nearly 12 months, since his time at Barnsley.
The much travelled keeper would certainly bring the experience that Thordarson prefers but whether wages again would be a sticking point is still up in the air.
One things for sure, it doesn't look like Gudjon is dumbing down his transfer targets due to our position. With the back four also needing some improvements I wouldn't bet against two or three new arrivals coming in if not next week then before the end of the month.
