Bowler: No Timescale On New Manager

Chairman John Bowler has admitted he's unsure as to when the club will get their new manager in place.

The club held talks on Sunday afternoon, reportedly interviewing both John Ward and Gudjon Thordarson. It was widely expected in the local media that a decision would follow swfitly with an announcement this week.

However, Bowler says he doesn't know himself how long things could take before the new manager is appointed, giving nothing away as to who is in the frame.

Speaking to The Crewe Chronicle, Bowler said: "We are obviously very keen and anxious to appoint a new manager as soon as possible.

"As a board, we met on Sunday to progress things further. But I can`t say what the timescale will be now as things could change very quickly. We have made good progress but I can`t comment further until we have completed certain discussions.

"We had a good range of applicants and I was pleased with that. Some did not have the experience we were looking for, which was disappointing, but we are confident we can appoint somebody who fulfils all our criteria."
