Crewe Begin Hunt For Manager

Chairman John Bowler has said that Dario Gradi is not in line for the job permanently and the club will now begin the search for a new manager.

Following Steve Holland's sacking yesterday evening the whole place went into meltdown. The rumour mill was awash with talk on whether Dario, under his caretaker role, was here for the long term or short term.

Radio Stoke hinted that Dario may well take the position permanently once again but Chairman John Bowler says Dario is simply acting as caretaker and nothing else.

John Bowler told The Sentinel that the club will now look for a new manager, with no-one yet lined up to replace Holland: 'There is nobody in mind to take over, but caretaker is, as it suggests, just that. We will be looking for another first-team manager.'

Surprisingly there has been very little in serious links to the job, though fans favourites for the job remain the likes of Aidy Boothroyd, Steve Cotterill and Ian Holloway.
