Red Devils Eye Dario?

Manchester United are reported to be keeping a close eye on the contractual situation of long-serving Crewe manager Dario Gradi. Gradi is out-of-contract at the end of the season and although John Bowler has stated he would never sack Dario, there is very little news regarding his contractual situation. Manchester United are believed to want Dario as their Youth Director, with the Milan-born man's experience in coaching youngsters making him an attractive proposition even for the likes of Man Utd. The Red Devils approached Crewe last summer with the offer of a link-up between the clubs. After a series of negotiations, the South Cheshire club duly accepted and were offered various Man Utd youth players on loan, including Gerard Piqué and Guisseppe Rossi.

The precise details of any extension to Gradi's contract are unknown, though it is a distinct possibility that Dario is merely waiting to discuss a new contract until the season is over in order to focus on his side's relegation battle. Crewe's development under Gradi is well documented, and despite recent pressure from a small minority of Crewe fans, the majority of fans continue to support Gradi and see his track record of success in the league below as a definite strength for next season's campaign, should we ultimately be relegated.

Certainly one of the most odd rumours I've ever heard! I wouldn't say its impossible though.
