Roberts To Be Palmed Off On Yeovil

Gary Roberts is set to make his switch to Yeovil permanent, once the two clubs can come to an agreement over the move.

Roberts made a loan move to Yeovil in August after 12 months of playing the rebel, which saw him skip several training sessions and get into a few scraps. After scuppering his final chance at the club, it was clear back in pre-season that the one time fans favourite would never be seen again in a Crewe Alex shirt.

Roberts though seems to have found some stability down in Yeovil however and has already been the subject of praise by manager Russell Slade several times this season. It comes as no surprise that Slade would like to keep Roberts at Yeovil beyond his loan spell and Steve Holland has given the green light this week.

Speaking to crewealex.net, Holland said that something should be completed after tonight's game in Yeovil: 'Yeovil are keen to keep Gary and we have come to an agreement to allow him to do that. That was always our intention and I'm sure something will be concluded later this week, after the game on Tuesday night.

'He knew there wasn't that much interest in him and geographically it is the perfect move for him, because it has got him out the environment he was used to.

'I'm sure Gary is back on track and thankful for the opportunity that both clubs have given him. Now it is up to him to become the player, we always thought he would be.'
