Alex Get Ready For Scunny Trip

Alex Get Ready For Scunny Trip

Crewe are set to be without a handful of senior players for today's tough trip to Scunthorpe United.

With Michael O'Connor and Dennis Lawrence on international duty for Northern Ireland and Trinidad & Tobago respectively, both are unavailable for the game. Steve Holland also faces the absences of Julien Baudet and Chris McCready, leaving the Alex very short in defence.

The injuries have though opened the door for newest recruit John Brayford. The right back from Burton Albion should come in for his debut, moving Danny Woodards across into the centre of defence with Danny O'Donnell.

Carrington, Bailey, Schumacher and Miller are set to make up what looks a quite weak midfield whilst Pope and Zola will continue up front.

We aren't alone in our international absences. Scunthorpe will be without Grant McCann and Krystian Pearce whilst goalkeeper Joe Murphy is unlikely to be fresh going into the games having flown back from duty especially for today's game.
