O'Connor Gets Ireland Run Out

Michael O'Connor won his third Northern Ireland tonight as they fought out a 0-0 draw against Czech Republic.

The 20 year old midfielder has missed the last couple of Alex games with an injury picked up in the away defeat at Hereford. Having been away with the Northern Ireland squad for the past week however Occy has managed to regain his fitness.

Tonight he was named on the bench in Northern Ireland's World Cup Qualifying game against Czech Republic and he was called upon at half time to replace the injured Sammy Clingan. Occy helped see out a good 0-0 draw, winning Iron their first point of the campaign.

The news is bound to please Steve Holland, who will now hope to include Occy in Saturday's home game against Colchester.
