'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Tranmere JPT Date Set

The Johnstone's Paint Trophy second round game at Tranmere will be played on Monday 6th October.

Kick off will be at 7:30pm

The Monday night move gives the two clubs chance to play any international players prior the the international weekend. With Tranmere likely to have two receiving call ups and the Alex's Michael O'Connor in the Northern Ireland frame, the Monday night decision benefits both parties.

Rovers manager Ronnie Moore meanwhile told the official Tranmere website, tranmererovers.co.uk, that the Johnstone's Paint Trophy is a competition his team is taking seriously.

Moore said: 'The Johnstone's Paint Trophy is a competition we are taking very seriously. There is a brilliant opportunity for two sides at this level to play at Wembley Stadium and we'd love to be one of them.'

The game will see Calvin Zola return to his former stomping ground following his £200k move earlier in the summer. The Alex are set to meet Tranmere again at Prenton Park just a few weeks later on October 24th.
