Crewe Ease Into JPT 2nd Round

Empahsis on 'ease' please. The result was never in doubt against a struggling Macclesfield side. As early as the 5th minute Steven Schumacher put the reds 1-0 in front and as early as the 13th minute Macclesfield were down to 10 men.

Martin Gritton's 2 bookings in the space of three minutes saw our Cheshire friends' night go from bad to worse. It was left to the unlikely lads, Billy Jones and Danny O'Donnell to finish the Silk Men off with a further two first half goals before the Alex sat back and enjoyed the final 45 minutes.

The result was as much as we deserved and it puts us into the draw for the 2nd Round of the trophy which will be made this Saturday live on Sky Sports' Soccer AM show.

The competition remains split North and South right up to the trip to Wembley and joining us in the 2nd Round will be...

Bury, Carlisle United, Chester City, Darlington, Huddersfield Town, Lincoln City, Rochdale and Rotherham United, who all received byes. Plus, Leicester, Leeds, Morecambe, Scunthorpe, Stockport & Tranmere.

Who do you want? I fancy a trip to Morecambe.
