Defensive Target Set For League One Rivals?

Steve Holland's unrequited love for Gary Breen looks set to take another blow, with the 34 year old set for Walsall. Reportedly.

Breen is the only available defender in the country who Holland believes can improve one of the worst defences in the league. Holland earlier last week revealed that he had spoken to the former Wolves, Sunderland, West Ham, Coventry, Birmingham, Peterbrough Gillingham, Charlton and... Maidstone man's agent but had failed to get an answer in regards to his willingness to sign.

It's now looking like that Breen will not only snub us but kick us whilst we're down. Having trained with Walsall over the summer it is reported that Walsall manager will ask the Rep. Of Ireland defender to replace the Saddlers' out bound star Anthony Gerrard. However, a month to month contract is only the reported offer - not quite as secure as our inevitable two year offer.

I don't quite see how a 34 can improve the defence that much, other than the offer of an experience head, but then I am putting it up against Neil Cox who must have made no more than 10 appearances at the back before Dario Gradi what a dreadful idea it was.

But then at least Breen has a World Cup goal to his name...
