Bad Boy Roberts Goes Out On Loan

Midfielder Gary Roberts has joined Yeovil on loan after a successful trial.

The 21 year old has joined the Glovers on a deal lasting until the 31st of December.

Holland has been looking to get rid of the trouble making midfielder for some time now, after numerous problems off the pitch. At the start of the summer break there was interest in Roberts from both Cardiff and Blackpool but after they heard the asking price set by Crewe they looked elsewhere.

Roberts spoke to www.ytfc.net about the move "I was at Crewe until the end of last season and I just wanted a fresh start. Yeovil were interested in me, so I came down and have enjoyed my first week here. Hopefully I can progress with my career now and do well for Yeovil."

"It's a relaxing area and everyone looks like they enjoy the football round here, and it's probably something that I need so I can get my head down and do well. It's a big start for me with Leeds tomorrow and Middlesbrough on Tuesday so I am really looking forward to it."

Many fans, myself included will be glad to see the back of Roberts, even if its only for a short move.

Yeovil manager Steve Thompson added these comments "We are very pleased to get Gary in, he is only 21 but he has been around quite a while now. He came through the Academy at Crewe and he is a very good player."

"He is not 100% fit yet, but he has already shown this week that he is a very cultured player, who is good on the ball, aggressive and makes good runs. He will be a very valuable acquisition for us"

Roberts had made 119 appearances for Crewe scoring 11 goals.

Everyone at Vital Crewe would like to wish Yeovil the best of luck with him! You are going to need it.
