Elding 3rd Favourite To Top Score
New signing Anthony Elding has been installed as third favourite to finish League One top scorer this season.
The £150,000 arrival from Leeds has odds at 12/1 with bookies Blue Square, with Leeds United's Jermaine Beckford and Aaron McLean joint favourites at 9/1.
Nicky Maynard, who finished 3rd top scorer in the division last season after almost half a season out injured, is priced at 25/1 - persumably based on the likelihood he'll depart before the season is out.
Calvin Zola, after his weekend hat-trick, is priced bottom of the pack at 100/1.
Totesport have taken a different approach. They've priced Maynard at 15/1 whilst Anthony Elding is a good price at 25/1.
Personally, I think each way (to be placed in the top 4) on both Elding and Maynard at 25/1 is good value. Should Maynard stay till January then there's a chance he may score enough to remain in the top four scorers come the end of the season, whilst Elding's still an unknown quantity.
