Elding Signs 3 Year Deal With Crewe!

Crewe Alexandra have finally secured the signing of Anthony Elding from Leeds United today. The transfer has seemed to rumbled on for eternity but it all came to a head this week and Elding put pen to paper on a three year deal this afternoon.

Elding had previously failed to agree personal terms with the Alex twice. In January he turned the Alex down for a move to Leeds before failing to agree terms earlier this summer after Leeds decided to let the former Stockport County striker leave Elland Road.

Elding signs for what is thought to be round £150,000-£200,000.

The 26 year old is a product of Boston United's youth system where he played over 50 games over two periods at the club. He made his name at non-league level with Stevenage between 03-06 where he scored over 50 goals in 118 appearances.

In 2007 he moved to Stockport County where he spent just 13 months, scoring 25 goals in 45 appearances at League Two level. His dream move to Leeds came in January of this year but after just nine appearances - including his cameo against the Alex in February - new Leeds boss Gary McAlistair told Elding he was available for transfer.

Elding now looks set to get a run out in this Saturday's home friendly to Hull City.

Vital Crewe would like to welcome Elding to the club.
