Elding Finally Set To Sign?

Anthony Elding could be set to complete a move from Leeds United to Gresty Road. The former Stockport striker was said to have been at tonight's friendly at Wrexham.

Steve Holland today admitted his desire to resurrect the deal for Elding, that collapsed early this summer over personal terms, should Elding have a change of mind. Various other reports however suggest the deal has been rumbling on more than Holland's let on publicly.

Costing in the region of £150,000-£200,000, Elding would be seen as a massive coup. Whilst his six months haven't been the best of times, his record of 24 goals in 38 games for Stockport in League Two is impressive enough.

However, Elding's arrival would spark immediate worries over Nicky Maynard's future. With Elding being sought as Nicky's long term replacement, it may be that an exit for Maynard is nearer than hoped.
