Crewe Run Rampant In Friendlies

Two Crewe teams gave out expected thrashings to their non-league counterparts in tonight's friendlies. The squad was split down the middle for tonight's games at Biddulph and Quorn as Steve Holland got his pre-season preparations well under way.

The likes of new signing Steve Collis and first teamers Chris McCready, Julien Baudet & Tom Pope made the shorter trip to Biddulph Vics where assistant manager Neil Baker led them to a 5-0 victory. Two goals from Tom Pope against his former club were the highlight, with Shaun Miller, Colin Daniel and Chris McCready adding to the tally.

In Quorn, with Steve Holland overseeing things, trialist Eddie Johnson marked his re-return to the club with two goals in a 4-1 win over Luke Varney's original club, surely adding weight to his claim for [another] contract with the club. It was new signing Calvin Zola who set things in motion with a goal inside the first few minutes whilst Michael O'Connor rounded things off.

Pre-season will continue with a trip to rivals Wrexham next Tuesday (22nd July).
