'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Foot In Mouth Time, Dario

Dario says footballers are greedy and it's embarrassing. The great man may have a point but what about our football club?

We all know it's madness that a League One footballer can earn up to £6,000 a week whilst the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo and Ronaldinho mull over £200,000 p/w offers but when you're running a football club in this day and age it's probably best to pander to the players needs.

Dario told Radio Stoke:'I could talk for two or three days about how footballers are getting greedier.

'When you think of people that live in poverty then it is embarrassing but that's not to say that there aren't good people in the game.'

Which may explain as to why we're being rejected by League Two and 'Conference' fodder every week, and may explain as to why we can't even compete with Leyton Orient or Hartlepool at this level.

It may well be this attitude that is taking the club backwards. Starting contract talks with 'In my day...' probably isn't going to make players listen and it seems Dario is well and turly stuck in the 1960's.

Unfortunately players do earn vast amounts, silly amounts but if we want a league club in years to come we can't exactly go on a crusade to stop that trend.

I am not sure if its the players or the agents that are the problem.
