Elding Deal Off!

Crewe Alexandra have confirmed that the deal to bring Anthony Elding to Crewe has been called off.

The club had a bid accepted by Leeds United for the services of the former Stockport striker but after a week of doubt surrounding the transfer, the deal will now not go ahead.

In a statement on the official website, crewealex.net, the club say:

'Crewe Alexandra have confirmed that they are no longer in discussions with Leeds United's Anthony Elding.

Although the club were able to meet the players' personal terms, we are led to believe that he wishes to remain with Leeds and fight for his place.'

Its good to see a player who isn't a first team regular actually staying at the club willing to fight for his place. I really rate him and he would have been a great signing for you.
