'If It's Football, It's Vital'

I am not ready to sign a new contract.

Danny Woodards was placed on the transfer list yesterday after rejecting a contract extension. The right back still has a year to run on his current deal but has admitted he wants to 'progress in his career'.

The 24 year old was joined by Gary Roberts on the transfer list, who also seems to have turned down a extension offer.

Woodards meanwhile gives the typical excuse of wanting to 'wait and see in anything happens'. The former Exeter man told superalex.co.uk:

'I've been happy at the club, but I want to progress in my career. Crewe have offered me a new deal, but I've turned it down.

'I've still got another year left on my contract, so I will see if anything happens. But, at the moment, I am not ready to sign a new contract.'

'Woody' has been linked to the likes of Middlesbrough and Sunderland in the past, whilst Gary Roberts was linked to seven Championship clubs in May.
