Roberts Linked With Championship Move

Young midfielder Gary Roberts has been linked with no less than seven Championship sides. He's also been linked with League One newcomers Leicester City again.

The ever reliable TeamTalk.com claims that Derby, Norwich, Coventry, Leicester, Watford, Blackpool, Doncaster and Crystal Palace are all tracking Roberts and could be preparing a summer move for the 21 year old.

Roberts has just 12 months on his contract left and is reportedly refusing to sign a new long term contract at the club, which has left relations between Roberts and Steve Holland fragile.

The interest will come as a surprise, if not relief after an indifferent season from Roberts in 07-08. Whilst he started off in the form of his life it slowly but surely went the way as the form of the team. Roberts was then disciplined twice inside a month earlier this year, once for not turning up to training and once for another, unreported off-pitch incident.

Whilst no doubt a good player, a possible departure of Roberts will not upset too many fans - some of whom don't feel he's worth the disruption he brings to the squad.
