The Guy Crewe Want

Rumours suggest that Colchester United's Jamie Guy could be set for Gresty Road.

The 6ft 1in striker is said to be the number one target that Steve Holland has been chasing this summer. Holland has already revealed that [Guy] has expressed his willingness to join the Alex and that John Bowler has been speaking to the player's club's chairman to strike a deal.

The 20 year old came through the Colchester Centre of Excellence and face the Alex youth sides in the FA Youth Cup 5th Round in 2005. In January Guy was all set for a loan move to Gresty Road till his pregnant girlfriend went into labour, putting any move away from the area on hold.

Last season he managed twelve appearances at Championship level for the relegated Colchester but didn't manage to score. Described as a strong, powerful target man he could be the perfect partner up front for Nicky Maynard.

Well looks like it could be the end of him with the U's, was linked with Leyton Oreint last week. Is a player i like, should score goals if he plays regulary.

i think him and maynard (if he stays) will make a great partnership together. It might work witht them two up front.
