Holland Excited At Potential Striker

Steve Holland says he's hopeful after holding talks with an unnamed striker about a move to the Alex.

Holland has always stated his intention to improve the forward line this summer, with Nicky Maynard finishing top scorer last term with 15 goals despite being injured for five months.

It is now thought that the unnamed striker could be set to complete a move after having promising talks with Steve Holland and the club, as Holland told the official site: 'He is a player who has played against our Academy at various levels and knows about the history and tradition we have with developing young players. Hopefully, this is one we can move on and we think we have a chance but there is work to be done.'

'We haven't got anything concrete yet to confirm to the supporters but I've spoken to a player already, a striker, and it has been encouraging. He is one on our list and one I would be excited about if we could pull it off.'

Holland wasn't to be drawn on who the striker is, having missed out of several during the last transfer window in January, but did reveal that the player's club would require a fee.
