Future Of Pair Still Uncertain

Future Of Pair Still Uncertain

The futures of Ryan Lowe and Eugen Bopp are still unknown although Steve Holland says he would like to keep Lowe.

Lowe had been a regular in the Alex side for most of the 06/07 season but fell out of favour as the 07/08 season went on. Several teams, including former club Chester, approached the striker in January about a loan move but Steve Holland felt it wasn't the right time.

In March Lowe completed a loan deal at Stockport County and has played four games for the Hatters and now faces the possibility of a trip to Wembley in the play-offs.

Many fans were expecting Lowe to be going through the exit door for the final time this summer but Holland says that there is still a place in the squad for the scouser, if he wants to stay.

Speaking to CreweAlex.net: 'We will wait until his season is over before we talk to him again. He is one of the players we need to speak too. He is still under contract to here, and I was more than happy for him to have stayed here in January.'

One player who looks certain to move on is Eugen Bopp. The Ukraine midfielder has had a tough time since signing 12 months ago, barely able to make the first team throughout the season. Holland told Bopp in January that he could move for free if he could find a new club.

He has since had various trials in Ukraine and Scotland but Cyprus could be his likely likely destination. However, if nothing comes of that then the club may be forced to settle Bopp's contract.

Holland told superalex.co.uk: 'We're both clear where we are. Eugen's had trial opportunities and there is another possibility with him going to Cyprus to play. If nothing materialises there we'll have to look at things and what he thinks is best to do.'
