'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Alex Target Hands In Transfer Request!

Stevenage Borough's Steve Morison has asked for a transfer away from Broadhall Way. The 24 year old striker is said to be one of Steve Holland's main targets this summer having had him watched numerous times in the past 12 months.

Despite netting 22 goals in the Blue Square Premier this season Morison was helpless as Stevenage missed out on the play-offs by one place.

It's left Morison disappointed as he aims to return to the football league, having previously had a stint with Northampton.

He told the Hertfordshire Mercury: 'It's nothing against the club. I've been here two years and think I've done well, but I want to play in the league and prove I can score goals there.

'I've always given everything and tried to score as many goals as I can and if I'm still at Stevenage next season I'll do the same.'

Stevenage say they are yet to accept Morison's request.

It caps off an unhappy week for Stevenage fans. They have recently seen manager Peter Taylor walk out on the club before their chairman appointed ex-manager Graham Westley, which doesn't sit well with fans. Morison says his decision has nothing to do with the management situation.

Plymouth Argyle are also said to be interested.
