Crewe Vital reported a month ago that Crewe had taken Aston Villa youngster Steven Clancy on trial after he had been told by Villa he was going to be released.
The England Under 18 International has failed to impress enough in his time at Reaseheath though and has been told a contract offer will not be forthcoming.
