Holland Wants Clear Out

Steve Holland wants to reduce the squad size for next season but admits it'll be tough getting some players off the wage bill.

Holland has always quietly shown frustration at the lengthy contracts some players are on and with a make or break season on the way for Holland, frustration must be creeping in.

Fringe players like Eugen Bopp, Mark Carrington, Ryan Lowe, Colin Daniel and Shaun Miller all have a year or more left on their current contracts, limiting Holland as to who he can ship out.

Holland has already made it clear that Eugen Bopp is allowed to leave on a free should he find himself a new club but hasn't ruled out trying to take one or two more off the wage bill as he looks to reduce the squad number to the mid-20's, including the six new academy signings.

Holland told SuperAlex.co.uk: 'A lot of the players are still on contracts for next year. We may have to wheel and deal a little bit.'
