Holland Wants Fans Backing

Steve Holland says he wants the full backing of supporters on Saturday. The first team coach was calling on fans to try and pack Gresty Road out and get behind the team in the hope they can get at the point that will secure League One safety.

Holland was inspired by the scenes at Bournemouth at the weekend where a price reduction saw the Cherries have a near sel-out for their sixth win on the trot. Holland believes that the large crowd inspired their players to the 1-0 win over the Alex.

He told crewealex.net: 'It was a bit unusual at Bournemouth because there was close to 9,000 supporters in the stadium and that is something Bournemouth have not been used to this season.

'It resulted in there being an excellent atmosphere inside the ground and I think our away end was close to a sell-out as well.

'Bournemouth have a similar sized ground, I think it is a 10,000 all-seater stadium and the atmosphere was terrific for all the players but especially the home players. They made a difference.

'I'm sure our supporters will be out to make a difference for our players. It is always good to play well in front of our own fans and we will be looking to do that on Saturday.'

Holland's call however looks set to fall on deaf ears as the club continue to advertise full price tickets for Saturday's match despite lots of calls from fans for a price reduction to get more through the gate.
