The club are quite rightly calling on fans to get down to Gresty Road for the crunch match against Oldham, but where's our reward?
Simply put, this season has been abysmal from start to finish. The lack of entertainment on the pitch has been shocking whilst the lack of action off the pitch was not quite unexpected.
Plenty of fans have stuck by the club and how gates didn't fall below 4,000 more often is unknown. The club and team alike have given us very little to shout about and at times this season anything but a defeat on match day was a nice surprise.
You'd think then that the club would show a little bit of gratitude and just reduce admission prices slightly. If it isn't gratitude then maybe to help back the team?
Full admission prices are £4.50-£8.50 for kids and a hefty £19 on the day for adults. Would it really break the bank to lower them a few quid and/or make it quid-a-kid? It'd get a few extra fans through the gate, a few extra roaring the team on and maybe by some miracle a couple of new long term supporters.
Saturday saw Bournemouth pretty much double their average gate due to lowered prices. Granted their the feeling around their club is slightly better after five wins on the trot but it does show the power of the price reduction. The club may also note that Bournemouth won.
This coming Saturday is absolutely vital in the club's history. No Alex supporter wants relegation to League Two but there's only so far they'll be pushed and pretty much begging people to come back and pay full price after the season we've been given is wrong.
