'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Bolton & 'Boro Smitten Over Maynard

Bolton Wanderers and Middlesbrough are to 'battle' it out to sign Nicky Maynard this summer, according to News Of The World.

The Premiership clubs are both said to be interested in the striker, who has 11 goals in his last nine games, although he failed to score in yesterday's 1-0 defeat in Bournemouth.

Having had a broken leg for the first five months of the season, his goal tally of 15 for the season is remarkable and could be one of the main reason's the Alex could/will/might be playing League One football next season.

It does however seem inevitable that the 21 year old will be moving on this summer and it's no surprise a whole host of clubs are taking an interest. Only a couple of months ago assistant manager Neil Baker rebuffed talk of West Brom signing him for £1million in the summer, claiming it'd take more than that for Crewe to consider selling.
