Jones Return On Hold

After the departure of Patrick Boyle back to Everton after his loan spell, Alex first choice left full-back Billy Jones was all set to make a timely return to the team after over four months out with a knee injury.

Unfortunately for First Team coach Steve Holland, Jones' partner is set to give birth today meaning a long trip down to Bournemouth for Billy looks increasingly unlikely.

Holland may already have a contingency plan though having considered not playing Jones anyway through like of match fitness at this crucial stage of the season.

Holland told Crewealex.net: 'Billy's partner has gone into labour this morning which is nice timing. We are not expecting to have Billy with us but we will have to see what unfolds over the next 24 hours.'

He added: 'We do have an alternative in mind but we are a little thin on the ground there, especially if Danny Woodards doesn't train today.'

If Woodards fails to declare himself fit for the game Danny O'Donnell could be recalled to the starting eleven in the centre of defence with Chris McCready moved to accommodate one of the full back berths and George Abbey filling the other.
